USARD Rudimental Foundations — Instructor Participation Agreement
This agreement is between you ("Instructor") and the United States Association of Rudimental Drummers ("USARD"). By signing below, you agree to the following terms governing your participation in the USARD Rudimental Foundations educational program.
1. Purpose
This program exists to provide high-quality rudimental education, connect instructors with new students, and strengthen the USARD community. It is non-exclusive and designed to complement — not replace — your independent teaching activities.
2. Eligibility
To participate you must be a current USARD member (or join upon acceptance), be approved by USARD based on experience and teaching capability, and agree to uphold USARD's mission and community standards.
3. Content Ownership & License
You retain 100% ownership of all instructional content you create. By participating, you grant USARD a non-exclusive, revocable license to host and display your content on the USARD Rudimental Foundations platform. You may use the same content anywhere else, teach the same material independently, and continue private instruction without restriction. USARD does not claim ownership of your materials.
4. Student Relationships
Students enrolled in your course may communicate directly with you. You may invite students to your personal website, private lessons, or any additional programs you offer. USARD will not restrict your relationship with students you meet through the platform. Upon termination of this agreement, you retain all student relationships.
5. Content Quality & Maintenance
You agree to deliver accurate, professional instruction, maintain reasonable course quality, and update or retire content that becomes materially outdated. Your initial course may be modest in scope (e.g., 4–8 lessons).
6. Compensation & Revenue
During the current growth phase, there is no revenue sharing and USARD does not charge hosting fees. You may monetize your content independently off-platform. Any future revenue-sharing arrangements will be optional, transparent, and offered only via a separate written agreement requiring your affirmative consent.
7. Branding
You may identify yourself publicly as a USARD Educator and reference your participation in the program. USARD may feature you in promotional materials related to the program. Use of USARD branding must follow the brand guidelines provided at onboarding.
8. Conduct & Community Standards
You agree to treat students respectfully, avoid discriminatory or abusive behavior, and represent the rudimental drumming community professionally. USARD reserves the right to remove content or suspend participation for conduct that materially violates these standards, with written notice where reasonably practicable.
9. Term & Termination
This agreement is ongoing until ended by either party with 30 days written notice. Upon termination, your hosted content will be removed within 30 days, providing a reasonable wind-down period for any students currently enrolled in your courses. You retain full ownership of your content and all student relationships.
10. Instructor Representations
You represent that you have the right to grant the license in Section 3, that your content does not infringe any third-party copyright or intellectual property rights, and that you will notify USARD promptly if any such claim arises.
11. Updates to This Agreement
USARD may update this agreement as the program evolves. You will be notified of any material changes and will be asked to affirmatively acknowledge updated terms before they take effect. Continued participation without such acknowledgment does not constitute acceptance of material changes.
12. Acknowledgment
By typing your name below, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms above. This agreement reflects a shared commitment to education, community, mutual respect, and the future of rudimental drumming.
