About USARD
Founded in 2001 by rudimental drummers from across the United States, USARD is a non-profit organization with a single, unwavering mission: to perform, preserve, and promote the art of rudimental drumming.
We bridge the gap between traditional rudimental skills and modern drumming artistry — keeping history alive while inspiring the next generation of percussionists. From fife and drum corps to modern marching percussion, from individual practice to convention performances, USARD connects the drumming community through education, competition, and fellowship.
Sharing innovation in rudimental drumming globally through our platform and community.
A dedicated forum for the exchange of ideas, techniques, and information on rudimental drumming.
Nurturing and coaching young drumming talent to ensure the art form thrives for generations.
Protecting knowledge and literature on rudimental drumming for today and the future.
The highlight of the USARD calendar is the annual convention, bringing together drummers from across the United States for a weekend of performances, competitions, workshops, awards, and camaraderie. Past conventions have featured individual snare and bass drum competitions, duets and ensemble contests, massed drumming sessions, and recognition of outstanding contributors to the art.
Check the events calendar for upcoming convention dates and details.
