After a long consideration, the Executive Board deeply regrets having to once again cancel our upcoming convention in October. Unfortunately, ticket sales have been very slow and we were way below our commitment to the Marriott which could provide serious financial risk to the organization. We also understand that many of our members have health concerns regarding potential exposure to COVID-19 as we are tracking increases with Omicron, and with our event being indoors there is additional health risk to attendees.
On a positive note, over the past year our membership, Facebook Group and Page has grown significantly and we’re now attracting new rudimental drummers worldwide that are keeping our traditions alive with daily participation from all ages. We appreciate the continued support from our members, clinicians and performers. It’s important to note that all these folks were performing free of charge for us and we do understand some of you may have made plans to attend and will have to reschedule things.
We are exploring any and all ideas for future events including regional day events and events with outdoor venues are being considered for next year as well. All purchases of events tickets and dinners will be refunded in a timely manner. If you purchased your ticket via the Eventbrite app this will happen automatically to your credit card. If you did send a check you will be refunded via check within the next couple of weeks.
NOTE – You should cancel your hotel independently as this transaction was done separate from the organization.
