In 1933, America’s leading drumming and percussion teachers, in order to preserve and promote rudimental drumming, created the National Association of Rudimental Drummers. Below are the original thirteen rudiments deemed to be necessary to master for admission to the N.A.R.D. Thirteen more rudiments were added to make up the 26 American Rudiments.
